.GOV Onboarding

Hello Mescal J6 Team Member and welcome to the Mescal J6 FD email onboarding process.

MESCAL DASHBOARD

Please log into the Mescal email dashboard here –

Upon successful login, you will be directed to your Dashboard. From the Dashboard you can view a snapshot of your Inbox, recent messages from the department, and other useful notifications. To open your Inbox please click Mail, located on the sidebar menu just below Dashboard. Your Inbox will now be visible along with any folders you created for your .com email.

Enabling Email Notifications

From the Dashboard, please click the Settings gear icon near the bottom of the menu on the left side. (Click the back arrow next to Inbox to reach your Dashboard if you are in the email window).

Next, click on Notifications (6 menu items from the bottom of the list).

Click REQUEST NOTIFICATIONS FOR THE DEVICE and follow the prompts on your device to allow the necessary permissions.

From the Dashboard, you can also access several tools in addition to your email. There is access to a calendar, a task app, and several other organizational tools. There are also collaborative tools such as intra-departmental chat and file sharing. To learn more about how to get the most out of these tools, please visit –

You may also access your .gov email using the same app or program you use for your current .com email. In most situations you only need your email and password. All other settings should configure automatically. If you need additional info to set up your account please consult the IMAP settings below.

IMAP SETTINGS FOR .GOV EMAIL

  • Incoming mail (IMAP) server: glacier.mxrouting.net
  • Incoming port: 993
  • Encryption: SSL/TLS
  • Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: glacier.mxrouting.net
  • Outgoing port: 465
  • Encryption: SSL/TLS
