Do You Have A Working Smoke Detector & Lockbox?
Mescal J6 may be able to help!
Chiefly Speaking
From Chief Nied:
On Saturday, November 8th, your Mescal-J6 Firefighters have partnered with the Arizona Burn Foundation to conduct a smoke detector walk.
Linked below you will find a flyer in both English and Spanish explaining what you need to do if you would like a new detector installed. Please use the QR Code on the flyer, however, if you do not wish to use it, you can email info@mescalj6fd.gov and put smoke detector walk in the subject line, and include your address, or call 520-586-4690 to leave your name and address.
Folks, I can’t put it any other way but that smoke detectors truly do save lives. They also can help save property, as your firefighters will get the call for help sooner.. It would be tragic to lose a member of our community if the simple act of having a working smoke detector could have made the difference. Please consider having us help you. We will be in and out before you know it and you can rest easy knowing you have a
new, working smoke detector.
IF you would like to join us on the walk as a volunteer, please email or call as recommended above. Bring a friend!

⸻
🔥 Why This Matters:
Smoke detectors save lives. They also help protect property by alerting you to smoke early—giving you and your family time to get out safely and call 911 so firefighters can respond sooner.
It would be tragic to lose a member of our community when a working smoke detector—installed free of charge—could have made the difference.
Please consider letting us help you. We’ll be in and out quickly, and you’ll have peace of mind knowing your home is protected with a new, working smoke alarm.
⸻
👩🚒 Want to Volunteer?
We’re also looking for volunteers to join us on our walk!
If you’d like to participate in the walk or support the event, please call or email to sign up—bring a friend or neighbor along!

🏍️ With the cooler fall temperatures upon us, more motorcycles are out on our roadways.
Over the past week in Cochise County, there have been two fatal motorcycle accidents, and we wanted to take a moment to remind both drivers and motorcyclists to share the road and stay alert.
Let’s all do our part to keep our roads safe — look twice, and save a life.
